Full Stack Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a software engineer with a burning curiosity, passion for building great products, track record of writing maintainable code, and reputation of being reliable and efficient.  This is a role that will work with our full-stack application development teams to implement business logic across technology stacks and across multiple Vimbly Group business units.  The best candidates for this role will have experience building across the stack, including working with databases, APIs and front-end technologies, delivering features to a live production environment, and maintaining best in class software applications.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building and scaling B2B SaaS platforms.

This is a remote position however, the role requires candidates to work full time in EST time zone hours from Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. 

As a successful Senior Software Engineer, you will:

  • Work with teams of dedicated infrastructure, API and front-end specialists to implement scalable and secure functionality that impact millions of users.
  • Deeply understand technical project requirements and how they deliver value to customers and the business at large.
  • Manage and deliver the full-stack implementation of complex product features
  • Live and breathe efficiency with a meticulous attention to detail – in your work and the products you help build.
  • Keep up to date with the latest technologies, and work with a team to deliver exceptional bug-free solutions.
  • Have ownership of your features and products, and the accountability that comes with them.
  • Serve as an expert-level resource to your team members, providing guidance and sharing knowledge with team members of all skill levels

 

Requirements:

  • Expert-level experience writing full stack Typescript applications
  • Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, etc.), and ORMs that interface with them (Sequelize, etc.)
  • Experience developing high-availability APIs and back-end systems in Node.js
  • Experience with React and building interfaces with React components
  • Knowledge of AWS products and infrastructure
  • Proven track record working in a team environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent
  • Creative problem solver that loves rolling up their sleeves and getting work done
  • Ability to work occasionally on weekends and evenings (in New York time)

Platform Developer Intern

We are looking for a team player with a burning curiosity, a passion for building great products, a track record of writing maintainable code, and a reputation for being reliable and efficient. The best candidates for this role will have experience developing, testing and deploying frontend, backend, infrastructure, and API features.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly on project teams to build platforms that affect thousands of customers everyday
  • Develop scalable and robust back-end systems (e.g., analytics, scheduling, payment processing)
  • Apply methodical, data-driven approaches to create and optimize workflows
  • Work closely with front-end and design teams to build enterprise-class software
  • Take ownership of multiple projects and learn new technologies over time

Requirements

  • Knowledge of modern JS (ES6)syntax and best practices
  • Experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Understanding of Node.js environment, promises, and event loop
  • Knowledge of Git version control
  • Exemplary attention to detail
  • Candidate for Bachelor’s degree (or better) in computer science, engineering, or equivalent

Optional Bonus Points

  • Experience with TypeScript
  • Experience interfacing with popular JS front-end frameworks (React, Angular, etc.)
  • Experience working with large datasets
  • Experience with process efficiency optimization
